Born in 1925 in Utopia station (350km NE of Alice), Galya Pwerle was sister to renowned Indigenous artists Emily, Molly & Minnie. Galya and her sisters collaborated in a 2004 workshop, creating art based on Women’s Dreaming: “Awelye Atnwengerrp”. Each sister had their own interpretation of the Dreaming.

Galya's paintings are known to showcase bold, expressive lines representing body paint designs, tracks for dancing formed in the sand for female rituals, and sacred sites for the associated ceremonies.
