This painting is the artist's depiction of the sand hills that cover the desert of the country belonging to the Anangu Pitjantajara Yankunytjatjara Lands (APY Lands). The dry strong winds in the desert drag the sand into hills and into troughs. The Tali are constantly changing especially during sandstorms. Some Anangu believe that women can control the wind by holding their arms into the air.
